RAF Lakenheath, Marham, Mildenhall and HMS Queen Elizabeth

NPAS video out; Navy Hamburg log NCND; AFOSI on the ground

RAF LakenheathRAF MildenhallRAF MarhamHamburgRAF AkrotiriNorfolkSuffolk

Hume's UK base-flap file: police logs for Lakenheath and Marham, NPAS video released after ICO-style pressure, a same-week Hamburg incident over HMS Queen Elizabeth that the Navy will not confirm or deny, AFOSI interviewing witnesses, and Phillips's phantom AARO briefing. He also logged an earlier Akrotiri 'phantom drone' that vanished when a team deployed.

Findings

Each line is tagged as a FOIA outcome, something someone told Hume, open literature, a leak, or Hume's own reading. Do not treat the last as a document.

  1. 01FOIA outcome

NPAS Lakenheath video released after IR/ICO pressure — Hume's template for UK FOI campaigns.

  2. 02FOIA outcome

Police logs obtained for Lakenheath and Marham.

  3. 03FOIA outcome

HMS Queen Elizabeth, Hamburg, 22 Nov 2024: Royal Navy NCND. Hume found it more interesting than the RAF incidents and could not get the log.

  4. 04FOIA outcome

AFOSI interviewing Norfolk/Suffolk witnesses; FOIA pending (Apr 2026).

  5. 05Hume's reading

Akrotiri: unknown UAS tracked, team deployed, object and operators gone.

  6. 06Hume's reading

Hume invited kinematic analysis (SHIPWREK) of the NPAS tape — are both objects F-15s?

  7. 07Hume's reading

MOD-MP still investigating months later; Hume said if it is misID the report should be public because it is not natsec.

AARO records of UK 'mystery drones' briefing to Tim Phillips

Phillips told Hume yes, he received such a briefing in his official capacity. AARO FOIA: no records of the briefing.

AARO records of RAF Lakenheath drone briefing

Phillips said he had been briefed as deputy director. AARO: no record. Hume checked DGI dates; they did not match. He treats it as informal.

NPAS airborne video — RAF Lakenheath drones

Video released after IR/ICO-style pressure (Hume's UK FOI template). Audio was stripped under a law-enforcement exemption, so the tape does not show what the crew thought they were seeing in real time. Hume asked analysts to run SHIPWREK (altitude, distance, speed) and whether both 'drones' were F-15s. NPAS had first Glomar'd involvement.

Will not confirm or deny records. Hume found this incident more interesting than the RAF base events and hit a brick wall.

RAF Akrotiri 'phantom drone' tracking

Hume posted the incident as a 'phantom drone' problem later overtaken by real UAS activity in the region.

CAA / UKAB radar — RAF Lakenheath NPAS incident

CAA/UKAB confirmed a second F-15 in the vicinity but released data on only one because it was the AIRPROX-relevant track. Hume: they did not answer the request for ALL. Internal review: radar tapes are proprietary data and therefore exempt; they at least admitted they had not answered what was asked. Hume planned to try NATS and push CAA again.

RAF Lakenheath NPAS vid (that they finally released through pressure imo, a good template for future foia, IR to ICO)
