File
NPRC personnel file — Operation Dominic Navy diver
National Archives and Records Administration · 1962 / requested with Cruickshank
Personnel — name withheld by researchers at family request
Request
National Personnel Records Center file for the Navy diver Whitecrow described in the Dominic 1962 context.
Outcome
Hume and Geoff Cruickshank identified the man and requested his records. Family does not want the name public. Not Carl Brashear.
Separate from the NNSA Starfish FOIA. Hume used it to check a death-in-electrical-accident claim attached to Gitmo / Dominic lore.
Names on this file
RG Hume
Independent FOIA researcher
UK researcher who files FOI/FOIA against MOD, DSTL, AARO, NNSA, DOE, FBI, CIA-adjacent holdings, EPA, CBP and police. Publishes as @rgh_ufos. Has said his name is on requests, has appeared in BBC and Mail Online, and was cited by Jesse Michels for the NNSA Starfish Prime response.
Geoff Cruickshank
Researcher / BG3P
Worked with Hume on identifying a Navy diver from Whitecrow's Operation Dominic account. Both requested the man's NARA NPRC records. The family, per Hume, does not want the name public.
Whitecrow
Source on Operation Dominic Navy diver
Spoke of a Navy diver in the Dominic 1962 context. Hume and Cruickshank identified the man via NPRC; family asked the name not be used. Hume previously wondered if it was Carl Brashear (it was not; Brashear died of natural causes).
Carl Brashear
US Navy master diver
Hume initially thought Whitecrow's Gitmo master diver who died in an electrical accident might be Brashear; Brashear's death was natural causes. Listed here because Hume published the correction.
