Per a podcast Hume cites with former NSA director Mike Rogers, Clapper as DNI asked Rogers to review NSA UFO holdings. Hume emailed Clapper for clarification and got no reply. He also tracks Clapper's 2015–16 window (pre-NYT 2017) and a claim that Clapper brought Elizondo to the Pentagon in 2008.

    In 2023 NSA told me all my request for intel files on UFOs would be met with a NCND (glomar) response. … DNI Clapper had asked him (as NSA director) to review all their holding on UFOs.
